Neil Ashdown is a PhD candidate at Royal Holloway University of London, where he is a member of the Centre for Doctoral Training in Cybersecurity. He has a degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from Balliol College, Oxford. He is on the steering committee of the UK Offensive Cyber Working Group, an academic initiative to encourage engagement between government, industry, and academia. Neil previously worked as an analyst for Jane’s, the open-source defence intelligence specialists, including as the deputy editor of Jane’s Intelligence Review from 2014 to 2019.
